Evening session on corporate governance and diversity + introduction for new candidates

Evening session on corporate governance and diversity on 23 August in central Stockholm with two very experienced and prominent speakers:

Maria Hemberg,  Chief Legal Counsel of Volvo Cars has served as secretary of the board of Volvo Cars since 2012, and in that period Volvo Cars has transitioned from being privately owned to a publicly listed international group with more than 200 000 shareholders. She has also served on the nomination committee and been a board member herself in various companies. Prior to Volvo Cars, she was legal counsel at AB SKF, lawyer and Senior Associate at Mannheimer Swartling Advokatbyrå and legal counsel at SCA Hygiene Products AB. Maria will share some of her thoughts and learnings regarding diversity work, expectations on a board member, good governance as well as regulatory requirements.

Stilpon Nestor, Senior Advisor to Morrow Sodali has advised the boards of some of the largest companies and financial institutions in the EU and emerging markets in Europe, Latin America, Asia and the Middle East across a variety of sectors. He has also advised public policy makers in Europe and MENA on building an effective corporate governance framework for their markets. He supported the board evaluation of the World Bank Group in 2018 and the European Investment Bank in 2019 and has led governance assessments in large NGOs such as the Global Fund. Until March 2002, Stilpon was the Head of the Corporate Affairs Division at the OECD, leading the team which produced the global corporate governance benchmark, the OECD Principles of Corporate Governance. He is now  a Senior Advisor to Morrow Sodali and founder of Nestor Advisors, a company that Morrow Sodali acquired in early 2021.

Magnus Kuchler, Country Managing Partner and Nordic Markets Leader EY. Magnus is also chairman  of the board for EY in Sweden, and he will share his thought and learnings regarding corporate governance.

Together we will explore what good corporate governance means in an international perspective, the importance of board diversity, how regulatory requirements have evolved over time and what impact that has on us as board members.

This event is not to be missed and will give you a lot of insight behind the scenes
