Leader and transatlantic connector

Kristiina Helenius is a seasoned leader and transatlantic connector with more than 25 years of experience in journalism, diplomacy, business, and geopolitics. Based in Washington, D.C., she serves as President and CEO of the U.S. arm of the Nordic consulting group Miltton, supporting Nordic companies’ expansion in America.

Previously, she was CEO of the International Sanctions & Export Control Society, led the American Chamber of Commerce in Finland, and served as Press Counselor at the Finnish Embassy in Washington.

Earlier in her career, Kristiina worked as a journalist, including as the first female Brussels Bureau Chief for the Finnish Broadcasting Company, covering the EU, NATO, and the ECB.

She sits on the boards of Arctic Drilling Company and the Global Fairness Initiative, contributing deep expertise in international trade, economic policy, and cross-sector stakeholder engagement.

Kristiina holds a master’s degree in economics and business administration and is a certified board director as well as a member of the U.S. National Association of Corporate Directors.

She is co-author of the bestselling China’s World – The Superpower of the Future and Its Ambitions (2025) and is currently working on a new geopolitical book on rare-earth minerals
